This and That...

I can't believe that Bratz dolls got such a response. I got twice as many emails as comments on that one. This gives me faith in humanity people...

Overheard while surfing Blog Explosion: My nephew fighting with his girlfriend. Oh, I really tried not to hear, but it is kind of hard in a 1600 square feet house.

She didn't understand why he didn't want to spend time with her today. Now people, just so you know, they spend EVERY day together. They are inseparable, more on her side then his.

He had told her he had things to do today, that he would see her tomorrow when he got off work. A huge fight (I'm assuming since I only heard his end) ensued, and she ended up driving over here, demanding to know what he was going to do today.

What he is really doing today is going shopping with me to pick out there One year anniversary present. I'm leaving early for work today so that I can help him. She wants a locket really bad, so I photoshop-ed up some pics for it, and we are going to pick it out today.

He FINALLY broke down and told her what he was going to buy her present today, and she replied with, "How long can that take? Why can't you spend the rest of the day with me?"

Red flag...Red flag...Big marching parade full of red flags...

I just don't know about this girl. She hasn't minced her words about wanting to get married and being a "mommy" (yes another one of those.), and is so dependent. They are only 20 for fuck's sake!

I will bite my tongue and listen to his bitching today, because saying anything just makes matters worse when it is about the heart. Ok, so I'll agree with him more then likely and ask him what the fuck is he thinking?

All this drama has reminded me of boyfriends past. I declare this week here at For F*ck's Sake! the ghost of boyfriend's past. Over the years I have had 5 serious boyfriends, and each day I will dedicate a post to each one of them.

I bet you can.hardly.wait.

Hey you're right! I AM looking forward to hearing about it.

Just makes you wonder... I am low maintenence and try to be nice to my boyfriend. And he ignores me. I'm thankful if I get to see him twice a week. Oh well, maybe your nephew's gf will wake up and smell the coffee one day when reality hits her.

I've seen men and women with that weird "I need to be with you every second of the day" craziness and still I do not understand it. The idea that they think they are in love when they can't even come to trust their partner to be apart fo any length of time makes me think that not only is it a doomed relationship, but someone needs to spend lots of money on serious brain shrikage.

Addictions can be tough. Especially on other people. Fiance addictions are especially troubling to relatives, friends, onlookers and overlookers. And goodlookers, such as yourself. As to whom to smack first, I'd go with him. Get the pre-nup before the ring. Stop at any stationer's, then advance to the jewelry store, keeping all documentation and receipts. Discuss safety deposit boxes on the way home. Look into new sperm-killing pills. Most important: video her reaction at high speed for later discussion. Sounds like he's about to marry the worst kind: a woman.

It is possible to be very attached and act totally differently from this girl. While I miss my boyfriend when he's not around, I never dictate his time. In return, he loves to be around me. Good sex, witty conversation, true love, and home made sandwiches? I never have to pressure him to come over.

And CW, what's wrong with being a woman? Have you met one of us before?

Wow, I think CW may be coming off of a REALLY bad break-up--poor guy....

As for nephew, you're the best thing he's got going for him. He is not at an age that is known for particularly high-capacity brain function. Good thing he's got YOU around to pick up his slack. And you know how to handle this...just find the right quiet moment and on-a-platter opening. Plant the seeds of doubt and concern in his head. Then stand back and observe. If they sprout, it was good that you helped him figure this out now. If they don't sprout, either he knows a lot about this girl that you don't or he's still just not "getting it". Either way, you did what you could! You're only ONE woman... ;)

Oh, and you are SO right about those dolls...they are so creepy! And, yes, those bodies that inspire them leave something to be desired as well....

I think you hit it dead on with the Bratz dolls. Part of that life-imitates-art-imitates-life loop, makes it hard to know where to be the most creeped out.

As for your nephew, as long as he plays his part in her drama queen routine, he can expect it to go on. Trusy me that I recommend this rarely, but in this case, have him listen to Tom Leykis on talk radio. Yeah, Leykis is a jerk, but he also has shows regularly where guys call in talking about marrying too young and then maturing and being totally scr**ed by their earlier choices. He consistently tells guys that 25 is the minimum age to even consider getting married, and even that is pushing it. It might help nephew to hear some real life stories to help put it all in perspective. It's hard because we girls talk and talk about our stuff, but guys clam up, so it is like each one has to figure it all out alone.

Love your writing style!

You are an imperialistic meddler (without a reason behind your imperialism) and you need to get your own fucking life. You have no idea why she is acting that way. You have no idea what he does or what their relationship is behind the scenes. You sicken me. They are kids trying to figure out their way.

Get a fucking life.

I piss on your ignorance.

Ahhh Anonymous, I might actually debate you on this one if you had decided to actually put your name in there, but I don't debate with cowards...

Wow, that anonymous person seems a little bitter. I guess to each his own. Your nephew will figure it out eventually, or his gf will grow up.

Hmmm...with regard to "Anonymous": Does someone other than your NEPHEW know about this blog? Like maybe the GF? Just wonderin' aloud....

She is puter illiterate Poppy, so that's not an option.

That, and I wonder if she'd know what imperialistic meant.

bad kj...very bad kj...
